Rotary Club “Kyiv-Capital” A year of service in the name of Ukraine 02/24/2022 – 02/24/2023
YEAR of full-scale war, 365+ days of unceasing volunteer activity, tons of humanitarian cargo, aid to communities, IDPs (internally displaced persons), children, medical facilities, rescuers, utility workers, schools, border guards, Territory Defense Troups (TDT), Armed Forces.
Almost UAH 10,000,000 from the NGO “Rotary Club “Kyiv-Capital” accounts are aimed at helping children affected by the war, purchasing special equipment, medical equipment, and generators, and providing housing for families whose homes were destroyed by the occupiers, and restoring educational institutions…
6 grants in the amount of $148,000 from the Rotary International Disaster Response Fund with the support of the Rotary Districts of Ireland, Japan, USA, aimed at the purchase of a fire truck, powerful generators, modular houses, and helping children…
885 children from 610 families in the front-line and de-occupied territories were helped by the Charity “Dobrodiy Club”, thanks to the funds we raised from the Disaster Fund of Rotary International… $25,000
3 families, one of which is raising eight children, whose homes were destroyed by the Russian invaders, received their own housing…
Almost UAH 380,000 – mini-grants from the Ukrainian District of Rotary International 2232 for the implementation of the projects: “Rotary Corridor of Support”, “Product Kits for IDPs in the Chabany Community”, “Warmth for Defenders”, “Be Conscious – Save Life”.
10 communities in Chernihiv and Kyiv regions and the Hero City of Chernihiv are constantly in the sights of the Rotary Club “Kyiv-Capital” Comprehensive support from the first days of the full-scale invasion of Russian troops into Ukraine.
21 medical institutions and three rehabilitation centers in the Chernihiv region, as well as the cities of Kyiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, Kryvyi Rih, Dnipro, and Kramatorsk, received assistance: medical supplies, medicines, medical equipment and tools, generators, water purification systems, items for the wounded.
Substantial assistance to 8 divisions of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Chernihiv region: a rescue boat with an engine, a fire engine, a car for deminers, generators, motorized pumps, first-aid kits, blankets…
65 generators with a 2.2 to 40 kW capacity for the Armed Forces, Territory Defense Troups, border guards, rescuers, doctors, rehabilitation centers, and even the Botanical Garden.
In 2 educational institutions of Chernihiv Oblast, which suffered as a result of Russian aggression, windows were restored with the financial support of Swedish Rotarians. The cost of the work amounted to almost UAH 600,000.
Rotarians from 11 countries (Sweden, Ireland, Great Britain, Italy, Germany, France, Switzerland, Japan, USA, and Kenya) supported us. We received the most help from the Rotary Clubs of Sweden.
In 5 countries (Great Britain, Sweden, Germany, Switzerland, Finland), where we held charity auctions, various actions, and implemented projects in support of Ukraine, 30,000 pounds were collected only on the first day of the opening of the icon exhibition in London.
The regional press constantly writes about us. Nine TV channels (1+1, 5th, Suspilnyi, Priamyi, Pershyi, Espresso, Inter, and others) showed stories about our projects… More than 3,000,000 views within a month from the day of release were collected by only two videos of “TIM” TV-company.
The Rotary Club of Kyiv-Capital ranks were replenished with 22 new Rotarians… Together – we are a significant force!
