HELP UKRAINIAN FAMILIES!
The story of Grigory, Lilia Kovalenko and their 8 children from the village of Krupychpole, Chernihiv region, is similar to the stories of hundreds of thousands of other Ukrainian families. Due to the Russian aggression, at one point they lost everything - both their home and any means of livelihood.
On February 26, 2022, a fire broke out in the small house of the Kovalenkos from an aimed shot from a Russian tank. Then it was late evening, and the family was getting ready for bed. Parents pulled barely dressed children out of the windows.
They were still being shot at, they fled through a ravine, then hid in someone else's cold cellars... The youngest two-year-old boy then became very ill, his parents almost lost him...
However, the main thing is that everyone remained alive. But there was nowhere for them to live, because not a single brick was left of their house. Kovalenko had to seek shelter elsewhere...
Our Rotary Club "Kyiv-Capital" started a big program precisely from the history of this family to help the victimized families with children to believe in goodness again, to start living anew.
Rotarians from Ireland (District 1160) helped us raise the necessary funds in the amount of $25,000 from the Rotary Foundation for Disaster Response.
So, thanks to Rotary, the large Kovalenko family celebrated the New Year 2023 in their new, modern, cozy house, where everything is thought out to the smallest detail - from household appliances to spoons and forks.
The story of the Kovalenko family has a happy ending! As well as the stories of three more victimized families who received new housing thanks to the help of Japan and Sweden Rotarians.
But there are currently thousands of families in Ukraine who need help! Support our project so that there will be more happy stories in the world!

Home is a place where history is written, it is where it is cozy, where it smells deliciously of vanilla muffins, where laughter is heard. Home is a place of strength. This is a place where, no matter what happens, when you return to it, you believe in the future again.
Today, more than a million Ukrainians have lost their home and their place of strength. From 2022, we are building houses for families whose homes were taken away by the war. We have created our own housing production in Ukraine, because in addition to construction, we consider it important to create jobs, pay taxes and care for people. To date, we have implemented more than 30 projects and 30 families received new houses.
We started contacting the Rotary Club “Kyiv-Capital”, it seems, since the summer of last year. Rotary is a worldwide community of proactive self-sufficient people who love to do good. They unite in separate clubs, which are good friends and help each other. The Rotary movement has been around for over 100 years, and they are actually doing incredible things. As an example, I was interested to learn that it was Rotarians who designed the UN, UNESCO, almost eradicated polio in the world, etc.
We met with Kyiv-Capital Rotarians, carefully discussed the details of our cooperation, showed them our production, they saw the quality of our houses. And then they found the first foreign partners. They were Rotarians from Ireland, the Dublin club. Then we were helped to build another house by Japanese Rotarians from District 2630, Nagoya-Wago club…
Now we are preparing to install the next modular house in Chernihiv Oblast from the Swedish Rotarians from the Uppsala Glunten club (at the expense of the Jannersten family). We are very proud of how productively our cooperation with Rotarians from the “Kyiv-Capital” club is developing»
